How to Pass a Driving Test in Kansas
Kansas driving test questions and answers cover the material found in Sections 1-11 of the Kansas Driver’s Manual. Section 12 is useful for prospective drivers, but the information it contains will not be tested on.
During your driver test study, you should focus on following the rules of the road. Breaking the law — such as by speeding, not wearing a seatbelt or texting while driving — can result in an immediate disqualification by your test proctor.
The test is broken into three different sections:
- The Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspection Safety Test requires you to check various components of the car, making sure it is safe. For some aspects of the check, such as when you would need to get underneath the car, you can simply give a verbal explanation of how you would perform the check.
- The Basic Vehicle Control Skill Test consists of parallel parking and turnabouts. You will be scored on your ability to reverse the vehicle, stay within cones, use turn signals properly and be aware of your surroundings.
- The Road Test will require you to operate your vehicle in open traffic. You may need to drive in a city, on a highway, on an expressway or in a rural area.
